FrenchieGuard ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the FrenchieGuard mobile app.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide directly:

• Account information: email address and password
• Dog profile: name, photo, sex, date of birth, weight, coat color, neutered status, and optional microchip number
• Health data: weight entries, symptom logs (category, severity, notes, photos), and vet records
• Subscription information: managed through Google Play or Apple App Store — we do not store your payment card details

Information collected automatically:

• Location data: approximate location to retrieve local weather conditions for the heat and walk safety feature — collected only when the app is in use and only with your permission
• Device token: push notification token to deliver walk safety alerts and vet reminders
• Usage data: basic app interaction data to improve the user experience

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide the heat and walk-safety alert feature using live local weather data
• Store and display your dog's health records, weight history, and vet information
• Send push notifications for walk safety verdicts and vet record renewal reminders
• Generate PDF health summary reports for your veterinarian
• Process and manage your subscription through the applicable app store
• Improve the performance and features of the app

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

• Supabase: our backend database provider, used to securely store your account and dog health data
• Weather API providers: we send your approximate location to retrieve local weather — no personal identifiers are shared
• RevenueCat: our subscription management provider, used to process and verify in-app purchases
• Google Play / Apple App Store: for payment processing and subscription management
• Law enforcement or regulators: only when required by applicable law

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a SOC 2 compliant backend platform. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your location data

FrenchieGuard requests access to your device location solely to calculate a heat and walk-safety score based on your local weather conditions. Location data is:

• Only accessed when you are actively using the app
• Never stored on our servers — it is used in real time to fetch weather data only
• Never shared with advertisers or third parties beyond the weather API call
• Controllable — you can revoke location access at any time in your device settings

6. Push notifications

We use push notifications to deliver walk-safety verdicts and vet renewal reminders. You can manage or disable individual notification types within the app under Settings → Notifications, or through your device's notification settings.

7. Children's privacy

FrenchieGuard is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights

You may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, or to request account deletion, please contact us at the address below or visit our account deletion page.

9. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

1. Use of the App

FrenchieGuard is a pet care companion app for French Bulldog owners. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

2. Not Medical or Veterinary Advice

THE APP DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL OR VETERINARY ADVICE. All content is for general informational purposes only. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for medical advice regarding your pet.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at support@frenchieguard.app.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

• Pro Monthly: $3.99 CAD per month
• Pro Annual: $29.99 CAD per year
• Both plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled 24 hours before renewal
• All billing handled by Google Play or Apple App Store

5. Free Trial

New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Your subscription begins automatically after the trial unless cancelled beforehand.

6. Intellectual Property

The App and all its content remain the exclusive property of FrenchieGuard. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part without written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not guarantee the accuracy of heat and walk safety alerts. Always use your own judgment when deciding whether to walk your dog.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FRENCHIEGARD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING ANY HARM TO YOUR PET.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada. Disputes shall be subject to the courts in Calgary, Alberta.
